The Last Trumpet of God and the Rapture

Is the LAST TRUMPET written about in 1 Corinthians, the same LAST TRUMPET written about in Revelation 11:15?

Because there is a LAST TRUMPET shown as blown in Revelation 11,  does this PROVE that Christians are / the Church is doomed to go through the Tribulation Period outlined in Revelation 5 through 11, thereby disqualifying all PRE-TRIBULATION theories?

Let's take a look at the Scripture Passages in the New Testament regarding the LAST TRUMPET(s) of God:

1 Corinthians 15 --
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the LAST TRUMPET; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.
"Ah-Ha", many post-trib and mid-tribulation supporters state, "This verse proves that the Church must go through the Tribulation / some of the Tribulation, for the LAST TRUMPET does not sound until Revelation 11 as seen below...

Revelation 11--
15 Then the seventh angel sounded ...
This is the LAST TRUMPET of Judgment; the seventh and final JUDGMENT TRUMPET, blown by the Angel in the series of seven Trumpets in which each Trumpet ushers in another 'piece' of God's Wrath and Judgment.

But could this be THE same LAST TRUMPET that Paul was writing about to the Corinthian Church?

If it is the same LAST TRUMPET, signifying the dead shall be raised imperishable and those who remain alive shall be caught up in the air to be with the Lord -- as taught in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 as provided below -- then we have a problem.

For after the Revelation 11 LAST TRUMPET is blown, we see in Revelation 13:6 that the Man of Lawlessness -- as Paul calls him in 2 Thessalonians, as provided below -- was given power to WAR WITH THE SAINTS...

Revelation 13--
5 There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was also given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them, and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 If anyone is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints
So which saints is the BEAST warring with?

How could there be ANY Saints remaining, if the LAST TRUMPET of 1 Corinthians is the same Last Trumpet of Revelation 11?

Paul taught the Thessalonians that the LAST TRUMPET is to raise up the Christians, both the dead and alive, so that the Christians would then REMAIN always with the Lord:

1 Thessalonians 4 --
13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the TRUMPET of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Is Scripture contradicting itself?

No.  Scripture does not contradict itself.  Rather Paul is writing about a LAST Trumpet call blown for the Body of Christ, and John is writing about a LAST Trumpet declaring the Wrath of God.  Two different Trumpets calls.  Also note: If these were the same LAST TRUMPET, then why did the Apostle John NOT see the Saints raising in his vision?  I maintain my stand, that the Apostle John could not see the dead and alive Saints leaving the Earth during this Revelation 11 Last Trumpet call, because the Saints are already gone from the Earth as John heard Jesus teach, in Revelation 3:

Revelation 3 --
7 "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: 8 `I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9 `Behold, I will cause those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie--I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and make them know that I have loved you. 10 `BECAUSE YOU HAVE KEPT THE WORD OF MY PERSEVERANCE, I ALSO WILL KEEP YOU FROM THE HOUR OF TESTING, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
Church, the LAST TRUMPET of 1 Corinthians is not the Last Trumpet of Revelation 11.

Revelation's LAST TRUMPET brings wrath and judgment.

1 Corinthians LAST TRUMPET brings the catching away of the saints.

Even as there were different Trumpet Calls in the Old Testament, so there are different Trumpet calls at the End of this Age (See the Video of Perry Stone teaching on different Trumpet calls in both the Old Testament and New, posted below)

Let not your hearts be troubled or afraid, Church.

God has NOT destined you to WRATH {1 Thess 5:9, Romans 5:9, 1 Thess 1:10}

You will be KEPT FROM the hour of testing which is about to come upon the face of the earth {Rev 3:10} ... IF you hold fast to Christ's Word/teachings and persevere in "doing" the Word and not being "hearers" only (James 1:22).

Peace and grace to all who long for Christ's appearing!

(c) 2010-20111 Is Christ Soon To Return

  1. I have read several posts. Okay... I hear various arguments about a mid trib and post trib scenario. I have been back and forth on this whole issue and no matter what I always return to the same argument: NO MAN KNOWS THE DAY OR THE HOUR. THE COMING OF CHRIST WILL BE LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT... THEY WILL HAVE NO IDEA.

Let's digress. Daniel tells us that the man of sin will be a great peacemaker and sign a seven year peace covenant. Anyone who has studied at length knows that is 2520 days, 7 prophetic years. So... if the Christians were still here when that happened, they would figure it out; Today's Date + 2520 days = the end. Really? Okay... how about mid-trib folks... 2520/2... Today's Date + (2520/2) = the end. You can see the silliness here.

If someone claims to know the day... THEN IT IS NOT GOING TO BE THAT DAY. Therefore... the pre-trib is the only explanation. Sure, there will be some folks who come to Christ (Gospel of the Kingdom) during the Tribulation... another long story...

  2. @ Brian ...
appreciate you dropping in and adding some more thoughts/insight to the discussion of the pre-tribulation rapture.

I believe your thoughts fall in-line with 2 Thessalonians:

"7-For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8-And THEN the lawless one will be revealed..." with the "one" doing the holding back being the Body of Christ on the Earth.
