Psalm 83 - The Coming War Against ISRAEL

With all that is going on in the Middle East, I thought I would take a look at the countries mentioned in Psalm 83, who are called by name as End Time plotters against Israel and see if they are currently  undergoing regime changes in today's Revolutions, which could soon result in the prophetic coming together in unity for the War Against Israel, and form what is called "The King of the South" in Daniel 11.

Psalm 83 reads:
4“Come,” they say, “let us destroy them as a nation,
that the name of Israel be remembered no more.”
5With one mind they plot together;
they form an alliance against you—
6the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,
of Moab and the Hagrites,
7Gebal,a Ammon and Amalek,
Philistia, with the people of Tyre.
8Even Assyria has joined them
to lend strength to the descendants of Lot.
As we look at these Nations, remember what Jesus said in Luke 21:9 --
When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.
... meaning, these current Revolutions are not the signal that we are in the Last 7 years of this current Age -- otherwise known as the Great Tribulation, or the Time of God's Wrath -- but we are seeing the stage being set for the Great Tribulation War as these countries change Leaders and will eventually gather in unity against their one common enemy, Israel.

So just who is:
6 ... Edom and the Ishmaelites,
of Moab and the Hagrites ...

Biblical EDOM is known as current day JORDAN.  The City of PETRA is located in the Land of EDOM, or Southern Jordan ... a city thought to be the place that the Jewish Believers will escape to during the Great Tribulation, even Jesus states in Luke 21 "Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains ..." and as Revelation 12:6 prophecies: "The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days."

Jordan is currently undergoing political changes, as reported by the New York Times, as follows:

~ The royal palace announced that the king had dismissed Prime Minister Samir Rifai and replaced him with Marouf al-Bakhit  ... The 27-member cabinet included a number of holdovers — notably the foreign, interior and economy ministers — as well as a few leftists. ...
Changing cabinets is not new for King Abdullah. In his 12 years on the throne, he has done so eight times. But this was the first time that he had done so in reaction to public pressure, seeking to undermine a growing protest movement across a broad spectrum of society and to pre-empt further unrest. It came after four weeks of unusual public demonstrations. ...
What is most striking right now in Jordan is that the very system of the monarchy seems open to question. This is partly because of what is happening elsewhere in the region but also because of growing discontent with King Abdullah and his wife, Queen Rania. King Abdullah’s father, King Hussein, who ruled for 46 years, enjoyed near adoration of his people. ..."

MOAB is the descendant of Lot who bore Moab through his eldest daughter and Moab is currently a part of JORDAN, East of the Dead Sea.

The Ishmaelites are descendants of Ishmael,  son of Abram with the mother being Hagar and is today considered Saudi Arabia (Galatians 4:25).

The New York Times reports the following about Saudi Arabia and the current Middle East uprisings:
~ ... The oil-rich nation  has successfully stifled domestic protests with a combination of billions of dollars in new jobs programs and an overwhelming police presence.
But it has also taken unusually aggressive actions, including sending 2,000 troops into Bahrain, the tiny kingdom across a causeway from Saudi Arabia where protests by the Shiite minority have threatened the government.
The Saudis are worried that the turmoil in the region could present an opening to Iran, a Shiite country that has formed alliances across the region with groups opposed by Saudi Arabia, including Hezbollah and Hamas. ...
The Americans fear that the unrest sweeping the Middle East is coming at a bad time for the Saudis, and their concerns have increased, partly because of the continued tumult in Bahrain. Many of the issues driving the protests elsewhere are similar to those in Riyadh: an autocratic ruling family resistant to sharing power, surrounded by countries in the midst of upheaval. At the same time, Saudi Arabia’s leadership is in question. King Abdullah, 87, is, by all accounts, quite ill, as is the crown prince.
Hagrites are also descendants of Ishmael, or Hagar and remember, Saudi Arabia does not currently strongly support Israel, it does support terrorism  and therefore should be easily influenced to join in this predicted coalition against Israel, predicted in Psalm 83.

Now on to:

7Gebal,a Ammon and Amalek,
Philistia, with the people of Tyre.

GEBAL is now known as the region of LEBANON.     Lebanon has long been known for its unrest, with Hezbollah usually at the front of the turmoil, and we know that Hezbollah would love to erase Israel from the face of the Earth if given the chance.

The New York Times notes that the current unrest in the Middle East is also felt in Lebanon, as it reports:
~ A meeting place of civilizations since ancient times, Lebanon has become a byword in recent decades for the many kinds of conflict that come from living atop a turbulent region's fault lines. ...
In January 2011, Hezbollah forced the collapse of the government, deepening a crisis over the United Nations-backed tribunal investigating the killing of Mr. Hariri and 22 others. ...
Ammon is a descendant of Lot, and is currently the Capital of Jordan (see Jordan notes above),
Amalek is thought to be south of Israel, perhaps MECCA which is in Saudi Arabia (see Saudi notes above)
Philistia are the Philistines, or Palestinians, residing in Gaza who seem to continually want to overthrow or wipe-out Israel and who was led by terrorist leader, Yasser Arafat.  You can read of Palastines current leader and his political views HERE
And Tyre is found in Lebanon (see Lebanon unrest above).

And finally,
8Even Assyria has joined them
Assyria is present day Iraq
Pierre Tristam has this to say about Iraq:
~ the Iraq war began with the American invasion and occupation. It spawned three major parallel conflicts: sectarian strife between Sunnis and Shiites; al-Qaeda-inspired terrorism; and Turkey's war on Kurds in northern Iraq. The conflict has since evolved. It's less bloody. Bu8t [sic] Iraq's future is no less unsettled as it has become a staging ground for the Iranian-American cold war.
So, as one can see, all the Countries mentioned in the Psalm 83 War Against Israel are not very stable and none of these Countries currently support Israel.  It is just a matter of time, as we wait and watch to see what kind of Leaders will emerge in these countries and other surrounding countries, before we can tell if these countries will be aligning themselves in the near future to wage the End Time War against Israel.

Keep praying for the peace of Jerusalem.

Psalm 122 --
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure.
7May there be peace within your walls
and security within your citadels.”
8For the sake of my brothers and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
9For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your prosperity.
HERE is a great End Times time-line, outlining the Great Tribulation and the flight of the Jews.
